Mongui Maduro Documentation
The documentation files are testimony to Mongui Maduro’s inquisitive character. He spent Sunday afternoons clipping out newspaper and periodical articles having anything to do with Curaçao or the Netherlands Antilles. This method continued unchanged after his passing, until the end of 2019.
Since then, new clippings are stored digitally rather than in impressive binders lining floor-to-ceiling shelves. The collection boasts around 150 subject-files arranged by topics including organizations, individuals, and events. These clippings are of immeasurable value for researchers looking into anything from language development, a specific writer, or artist, environmental issues, or political developments.
